How to export your client list

Step-by-step instructions for the four most common booking platforms. Once you have your CSV, upload it in the Protaja app under Clients → Import CSV.

Square Appointments

Square exports phone numbers in the "Phone Number" column. Protaja finds it automatically.

    Open your Square Dashboard

    Go to squareup.com and sign in to your account. Make sure you're in the correct location if you have multiple.

    Go to Customers

    In the left sidebar, click Customers. This opens your full client directory.

    Click "Export"

    In the top-right corner of the Customers page, click the Export button. Square will prepare your list.

    Choose "All Customers" and download

    Select All Customers and click Export to CSV. The file downloads automatically to your computer.

    Upload to Protaja

    In the Protaja app, go to Clients → Import CSV and select the file. Protaja reads the name and phone columns automatically.

What Protaja looks for in your file

Required

  • Namefirst_name, name, or full_name column
  • Phone10-digit US number

Optional (but helpful)

  • Last VisitHelps prioritise who to message first
  • EmailUsed for future email features
  • BirthdayEnables birthday message campaigns
  • NotesImported as client notes
